Research area    She focuses on research in the field of early childhood education and child development. The core of her scientific and publication activities is the expansion of diagnostic assessment tools in Slovakia, with particular attention to children of Hungarian ethnicity. She specializes in assessing school readiness and evaluating the skills of preschool-aged children and early primary school students in the context of learning competencies. Her work prioritizes the pedagogical and didactic aspects of the transition from kindergarten to primary school, and she develops recommendations for shaping learning environments that support children’s success and adaptation at the pre-primary and primary school levels. Her other key areas of professional interest include early childhood education methodology, educational diagnostics, language socialization, and the adaptation of diagnostic assessment tools for the local context.

Throughout her professional career, she has held several positions related to education and teacher training. She has worked as a kindergarten teacher and principal, as well as an expert lecturer in continuing education programs (MPC Bratislava). She has also carried out multiple expert activities: as a content specialist for educational materials (MPC Bratislava, NIVAM) and as a member of professional working groups established to develop the new State Educational Program for primary education – 2023 (1st cycle: Language and Communication – Hungarian; NIVAM). She serves as chairperson of the first and second attestation committees (Nitra UKF) in the Early Childhood and Elementary Pedagogy program, a role she continues at NIVAM. From 2021 to 2025, she was a member of the Quality Assurance Council at PF UJS. Since 2025, she has overseen the Early Childhood Pedagogy and Caregiving study program (ZOŠP) and previously spent four years as a study advisor in the same program. She currently supervises core subjects (ZOPP) in two additional study programs. She is a member of the doctoral study committee and supervises two doctoral dissertations (field of study: 38. Teacher Training and Pedagogical Sciences; study program: Pedagogy; Mgr. Kinga Bugár - Possibilities of developing resilience in the prevention of integration problems among first-year students; Mgr. Ing. Mónika Ölveczky- Diagnostic Possibilities and Limitations of Children’s School Readiness in Pre-school). She serves on the editorial boards of two international scientific journals and actively contributes to two research teams (one domestic, one international). Additionally, she is an external member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. Her research focuses on early childhood education, child development, and learning, with particular emphasis on expanding diagnostic assessment tools in Slovakia. Her main professional interests include early childhood education methodology, primary education methodology, the transition from kindergarten to primary school, school readiness, educational diagnostics, and language socialization.

 

She has received numerous professional awards for her pedagogical and scientific work. In 2018, the city of Dunajská Streda awarded her the Teacher of the Year prize for outstanding educational contributions. For her significant scientific and publication achievements, she received the Rector’s Prize of UJS in 2019, 2021, 2022, 2024, and 2025.
